A Cup Of Hot Chocolate To Warm You

I could go for a cup of chocolate ... hot or not ...
hee hee hee ... how about you?

This cup is so easy to make...whether you want it to be a teacup, coffee cup, or hot cocoa mug.  It makes a great gift and can hold your choice of goodies, coffees, or teas.  There are also many ways to decorate it....from die cut images like I used, or stamping, or embossing, or....well just use your imagination.

That adorable snow man that I add to the cup is a stamp and die set from Paper Sweeties called Holly Days Bundle and I colored it with watercolor pencils and Sakura Stardust Glitter Gelly Roll pens.

I will be making a YouTube video on how to make this cup, but it probably won't be until after Christmas because I'm so busy with Christmas preparations right now.

Please come back and check my blog or keep an eye on my YouTube channel jjgz4ever ....I will also be posting it as one of my Wednesday Tutorials on Scrapbook Blessings Club

Just Because Card - Teacups

This adorable teacup stamp and doily embossing folder came with the Quick Cards Made Easy magazine back in the June issue and they go together so beautifully.

I inked the inside of the embossing folder with "Tattered Rose" Distress ink before embossing the cardstock.  That is how I got the effect of the light pink background with white doilies.  I will be sharing that technique in "Distress Ink Techniques Part 4"  later this month on my YouTube channel jjgz4ever and it will also be on Scrapbook Blessings Club .

I had that corner piece that was a leftover scrap and it fit perfectly so I had to use it.  I stamped the teacups on glossy cardstock and colored them with Spectrum Noir markers and then cut them out and used foam tape to adhere them to the card.  For fun I added sequins to make it appear that tea is spilling out of the tilted teacup.  On the side I embossed a strip of white cardstock and attached ribbon and a bow to it and attached that to the card.  It all came together perfectly.

Teapot Rocker Card

I have been doing a series on Distress Ink Techniques on my YouTube channel and thought I would do a card using Distress Ink.

The teapot and rocker card base are made of white card stock colored with "Chipped Sapphire" Distress Ink.  Then for a subtle flowered look I stamped some flowers on the teapot using "Weathered Wood" Distress Ink.  The teapot is an awesome Sweet Cuts die from Paper Sweeties called Tea For Two .  The rocker base was made using a Sizzix Scallop Circle die...I used the largest one which is 4 1/4" and scored and folded at 2 1/8" which is the halfway mark.  I added a paper doily to the base and used foam tape to attach the teapot.  I also created a "tea bag" tag and stamped Get Well Soon on it.  I added a blue pearl to the lid and a flower to the handle.

Sending You Warm Wishes

Nothing warms you like
a cup of cocoa on a cold winter's day.

When my kids were younger we went sledding down the hill in our backyard almost every day....and afterwards we would come in and have hot cocoa.
That is what this card reminds me of.

The background is cardstock I printed using my Cricut Imagine "Christmas Wish" cartridge.   If you have a Cricut Explore you can print this in the Cricut Design Space.  The image was also print & cut with my Cricut Explore....she is one of Sherri Baldy's 3D pre-colored Besties Coffee Bestie but since I don't drink coffee I wrote Cocoa on the cup.  The snowdrifts were made with a die from Paper Sweeties Sweet Cuts die set Thanks Snow Much ... I lightly chalked the tops and then sprayed them with Diamond Dust so they would glisten like snow.  I finished it off with a few snowflakes.

Warm Christmas Wishes

I guess I needed some motivation to make some Christmas cards and a challenge usually does it!

I love this Santa Clause with his hot cocoa!!!
It is off the Cricut Imagine "Santa's Village" cartridge and is 3D.  I actually do the layers in such a way that his elbows are back and the cup of cocoa out farther as if he is really holding it.

Double Gate Fold Christmas Card

This card fold is so cool and so easy!!!
My friend Sandy posted this technique on
MFP Stamp November Blog Hop

The directions for this are very easy and instead of me going through each step here I am going to send you to Sandy's blog post HERE
I made a little change....I cut a TINY slit in the front folds on each side to slide ribbon through and tied in the center.  To keep the ribbon from coming through the slit I just tied a knot in the end.

The tree and the presents were stamped and cut out.  I colored presents with colored pencil and used Liquid Glass on the "ribbon and bows".  The tree was stamped with White Daisy ink from CTMH  and "decorated" with Stickles.

For the top 2 pictures I had the card laying down so the light would make the Stickles and Liquid Glass show up.  Below is the card open and upright.

I'm entering this in the challenge at MFP Stamp Shop

I hope you like the card and try it yourself.

Wishing You A Very Bestie Christmas

I love My Besties and this one is just as adorable as the rest.  This is "My Besties Christmas Box"

I thought this little Bestie would look cute surrounded by the ornaments of this Darice embossing folder that I used with my Cuttlebug.  I colored the ornaments, snowflakes, and stars with Sakura Stardust Jelly Roll pens.  I colored the Bestie image with colored pencils.  I thought the bow and jingle bell would be the perfect way to finish the card.

You can find this Bestie and more at Sherri Baldy's stores...

Winter Woods Shaker Christmas Ornament

I love making Christmas ornaments and they make nice gifts.
I made this one using one of the Winter Woods images from Deedee's Digis and 2 snowflakes I cut out using my Cricut and the Winter Lace cartridge.

The Winter Woods set comes with both colored images and uncolored images.  For this I decided to use the colored image so that those of you that don't color can see that what it looks like.  I printed it out at 3" high and 3 1/4" wide.  Then I cut it out with a 3" Sizzix circle die.  I also cut a 3" circle from acetate for the window of the shaker part.  The snowflakes were cut at 5" and 4".  The 5" snowflake's top layer was cut twice, one for the front and one for the back so that both sides look like a snowflake.  After the layers of the 4" snowflake were glued together I used the 2 1/2" SIzzix circle die to cut the opening in the center.  I sprayed the snowflakes with Krylon Glitter Blast Diamond Dust.

If you need to know how to put a shaker card (or in this case ornament) together, please watch my YouTube video on making a snowglobe shaker card...click HERE
In this case however, in place of the second piece of acetate you will be using the Winter Woods image that you cut out.

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

I just love Bugaboo Stamps and this is one of my favorites...
Deer Duo .  I see that as me and my husband :)

I love that sweet image and couldn't wait to make a card with it.  I chose to make a scalloped oval easel card.  I colored the image with colored pencils and then accented parts of it with Liquid Glass from CTMH .I used some chalk and Sakura Clear Stardust Gelly Roll pen to accent the snow at their feet.  I topped it off with a red bow.  The sentiment is from the Believe In Christmas stamp set also from CTMH and is stamped on a die cut label from Paper Artist cutting dies "9 Tiny Tags & Little Labels" from HOTP.  The ovals were made with Sizzix thinlet dies.

Warm Christmas Hugs

This week I let my 16 year old daughter make my
Sunsational Stamps DT project.
She is quite a creative card maker.  She used

The card is 4 1/2" x 4 1/2".   The background was made using a snowflake embossing folder that came with my Cardmaking & Papercraft Magazine ...you can also find them HERE on FB .  It was colored blue around the snowflakes with chalk.  The image was colored with Distress Markers and cut out.  The Christmas tree is a stamp and die from Your Next Stamp.  The snow drifts are from the Paper Sweeties Sweet Cuts die set called Thanks Snow Much .  Like me, my daughter likes to make things dimensional.  She layered several of the snow drifts with 3D Foam Squares and layered the image between the snow drifts.  The sentiment "Warm Christmas Hugs To You" is part of the Warm Winter Hugs stamp set.  It's a sweet card and I think she did a great job.

Happy Holidays With A Touch Of Bling

My dear friend gave me this stamp and I couldn't wait to use it.  It is Poinsettias & Berries from Great Impressions Stamps

For the background I used an embossing folder by Jennifer Ellory that I got from Cardmaking & Papercraft Magazine .  It is gorgeous and the perfect way to showcase the poinsettias stamp.  Now for the image....I stamped it three times and colored it with Spectrom Noir markers.  Then I cut out one leaving it whole.  The next one I cut out leaving off the leaves and a few petals.  And the third one I only cut out the few center petals of each flower.  You can judge for yourself how you want to cut them to layer them.  I put the layers together using 3D Foam Squares....one under the center of each flower giving it dimension, and leaving the leaves and petals free.  For the berries I added a litle BLING :)
The Happy Holidays stamp is from the "Just To Say" Cricut Collection stamp set from Close To My Heart .  I think it all came together BEAUTIFULLY.

Here is a side view so you can see the dimension...

And here is a CAS version using the same stamp...

Away In A Manger

Christmas is my favorite time of year and that is the theme this month.  Below is a nativity scene I made using one of
Sunsational Stamps new releases
Oh Holy Night Nativity.

I know this is hard to believe, but we didn't have a nativity scene and I wanted one to put up for Christmas.  I wanted something dimensional and something that would stand up by itself.  I stamped the image FOUR TIMES....the fourth one was just so I could get the star and the bushes.  I colored each image with watercolor pencils.

I left one completely intact for the back layer.  The other layers I cut everything out of leaving the manger like a frame.  Each image was cut out individually to be used for layering.  Mary and Joseph were only layered once, baby Jesus was layered twice.  As you can see the manger has two layers on top of the back layer.  The extra bushes and star are layered onto the very front.  I used foam tape to do the layering for added dimension.

Next I cut a 6" circle out of dark blue cardstock.  I scored it at 3 3/4" and folded it there to create the stand...the smaller part for the base, the larger part to foam tape the nativity scenc to.   I added stars to the "sky" with a Sakura Clear Stardust Gelly Roll pen.  I used the same pen to color the star above the manger.  As you can see it stands nicely and is very sweet.

I found a challenge to enter this in...

An Old Fashioned Christmas

We all have a special Christmas memory from our childhood.  Mine was the year Santa brought me the rocking horse I had wanted...I was 4 years old.  That is what inspired this card.  I used the Rocking Horse image from Sunsational Stamps

In order for you to see the areas I added Liquid Glass to I had to tilt it so the light would hit it....I wanted to make sure you saw it :)

I thought that a rocking horse should be on a rocking card.  To make the rocking card base I used the largest die (4 1/4") from the Sizzix Scallop Circles.   I had a piece of old fashioned looking patterned cardstock that had presents on it, but of course you can use whatever cardstocks you like.  I scored the circle at 2 1/8" (the center) and folded it in half.  There you have the base of the card.  I used Liquid Glass (a Close To My Heart product) on the presents to make them stand out.  Then I added some gold "garland" to the top.  Now for the Rocking Horse ....I colored it with Distress Markers, added a gold brad on the reigns and also used Liquid Glass on the reigns.  I tied a red ribbon and added that to a tag I had "distressed" with Distress Ink and stamped Merry Christmas and attached it to the rocking horse.  And lastly, I used foam tape to attach the rocking horse to the rocking card.  It's really fun because the card makes the rocking horse rock!.
