Grunge Alice In Wonderland Pop-Up Easel Card

The second I saw these Grunge Alice In Wonderland Playing Cards printables in VectoriaDesigns Etsy Shop I knew I would use them to make something for my daughter....and I did...a pop-up easel birthday card!

You can actually print out the whole deck of cards to play with!  I printed them out smaller so I could use them on this card.  The inspiration behind this card is that my daughter got the nickname "Ace" when she was in high school and it has stuck....and she likes Alice In Wonderland.

I also made a fun tranfer and put it on a t-shirt for her.  You can see that and this card in my video HERE

VectoriaDesigns has so many Alice In Wonderland printables....not all are grunge like the ones I used.  I also used their Soft Grunge Paper pack that you can buy OR get FREE when you subscribe to their newsletter.  The label is their Blank Narrow Labels.  The flourished corners were cut with my Cricut "Heritage" cartridge.  I don't remember where the flowers came from....they were in my stash.

Selective Coloring Technique For Black & White Photos

And now for some inspiration I'm going to share a card I made using a technique I came up with years ago for my photography.   Yes I'm into photography too....another passion of mine.  And now I'm combining that technique with my cardmaking.

With this technique you can add a touch of color to a black and white photo....or add some eyecatching bold color.  It's up to you.  For this card I just added a touch of pink to the flower in her hair to match the pink in the rest of the card.

If you would like to see this in action and see other samples of what can be done

Anniversary Card with MHK Designs February Release

I made this beautiful anniversary card for my husband using MHK Designs new February release digital image set Valentine Roses

After printing the flowers and quote, I colored the image with Ohuhu colored pencils, and then lightly chalked around the flowers with blue chalk to add a little depth.  I layered that on top of pink cardstock (color doesn't look right in the picture...sorry), and then used my Martha Stewart lace punch and created two rows of "lace" from the same pink cardstock.  I added that to the bottom of the card and topped that with pearls.  I know it's a little feminine for a man, but my husband doesn't mind...he loves everything I make and displays them in his office.

Be sure to check out MHK Designs Blog for their monthly challenges and inspiration!
