Pug Love - Birthday Card

I recently won a challenge at Jade's Sparkling Butterflies and the prize was 3 images from Ching-Chou Kuik .  I had never heard of them but was happy to have won....and boy am I glad I did!!!  I just discovered a new place to get digis!!!  For this card I used one of the images I won.  It's called Pug Love .  My husband thinks it looks like me and our little Zaq, so I decided to make a birthday card for him with it :)

What you are looking at is the outside of the house.  I cut a window with my Cuttlebug using a Sizzix square die, then made the window frame with Gina Marie Designs stitched square die, and used a piece of acetate for the glass.  So she is looking out her window.

The images on the outside of the house are from 2 different stamp sets.  The flower pot on the left is part of Gina K. "Plant Trio" stamp, and the rest is part of Art Impressions "Try"Folds "Garden" set.

I colored the images with Inktense watercolor pencils, and added CTMH Liquid Glass to the watering can for some shine and pop, as well as adding it to the bird bath to give the effect of water.  I drew faint lines across the "house" giving the effect of siding.

Here is a view of the entire image.

I absolutely LOVE this image and couldn't wait to use it!!!

A New Card Fold & Adorable "My Besties"

Sherri Baldy's My Besties are just so adorable!!!
I thought they were perfect for the front of these cards I made using a "new to me" fold.  I saw this card fold during a hop, it was on Donna's blog, Lakefront Stamping Creations but she didn't give any directions so I just figured it out myself ... not sure if it's exactly how she did it, but it's close enough for me :)
And I have the tutorial on my YouTube channel jjgz4ever and you can see it by clicking HERE

The fun paper I used on the first card is from CTMH's Kaleidoscope Paper Packet .  The punch I used on the white cardstock is a Martha Stewart Punch Around The Page set that is called Eyelet Lace.  I added colorful gems down the side because I love sparkly things, and a bow on the tab.   I used Inktense watercolor pencils to color both images.

I used Gina Marie Designs stitched rectangle frame dies to cut the white cardstock and the navy blue cardstock that is behind the image.  The glittery red & white striped cardstock is from DCWV "Nantucket" paper stack that I got a few years ago.  The Baseball Brads is from Hot Off The Press ( Paper Wishes )

Tuesday Tips, Techniques, and Tutorials - Upcycling Old Jeans Pocket

LOL....I know it's Wednesday....I'm a day late :)
This is my third project upcycling old jeans.  If you missed the others, I made a purse and dressed up a photo book...and today I'm turning a pocket into a pretty refridgerator magnet to hold a note pad and pen.  This same pocket could also be used for other things, like a pocket on the front of an album or journal....or a bigger pocket would be great for holding mail.  So many options for your old jeans!

The adorable shabby flower was made with my Cuttlebug and Tim Holtz "Tattered Florals" die  using denim and pink tulle and topped off with a pink flat back pearl.

Here the links to my tutorial on this pocket and my other upcycled jeans projects in case you missed them....enjoy :)
