My Bestie Interlocking Gatefold Card - Mother's Day

I made this card for a Mother's Day card but as you can see from the inside I haven't decided what to say yet :)

This is an interlocking gatefold card, and if you missed my first post on this style card I will post the link to my YouTube video tutorial so you can see how to make it, and also the link to my video about the making of this card.

Interlocking Gatefold Card

I used digital paper from Sherri Baldy's My Besties Designer Grunge Digital Paper Pack which is just gorgeous!!!  I also used Sherri Baldy's My Besties IMG875 and colored it with Inktense watercolor pencils.  I used Sizzix Scallop Oval dies to create the interlocoking parts.   For the inside I used a Martha Stewart lace punch.  Oh and the blue on the outer scallop oval and on the "lace" inside was done by inking with Distress Ink "Broken China" so that it would match the blue in the floral paper.  I also added some flowers and a butterfly to the outer scallop ring.

I found some challenges for this card...

Tuesday Tips, Techniques, and Tutorials - Shabby Chic Cell Phone Purse

Happy Tuesday Everyone!!!
Today I am stepping outside the cardmaking box.
I love recycling or upcycling, whichever you prefer.
One of my favorite things to use is old jeans.  There are so many possibilities and I will be showing you some over the next 2 or 3 Tuesdays.

This week I'm going to show you how to make a cute little purse.  I use mine for my cell phone, chapstick, and credit card holder for those times I don't need a big purse.

This is one you will see in my video

You can watch my tutorial by clicking HERE
Or by visiting my YouTube channel jjgz4ever

Here is another one I made

I hope you watch my video :)

Happy Birthday - Hummingbird Card

I like to make birthday cards ahead of time to have them on hand.  This one was a joint effort with me and my daughter.  I had this Bugaboo stamp Blocks - Hummingbird and my daughter suggested I only color the flowers.  I liked her idea and then figured out how to bring it all together.

I embossed a white piece of cardstock with Die'sire Embossalicious "Lattice" embossing folder and used that for the background.  Before attaching it to the card I wrapped black ribbon around the middle.  I colored the flowers with Distress Markers (Spun Sugar, Milled Lavender, Mustard Seed, and Spiced Marmalade).  I added Sakura Stardust glitter gel pen around the edges of the square and on the "flutters" beneath the hummingbird.  Then I layered it on black cardstock, and layered that on pink cardstock to match the flowers.  I used dimensional foam squares to attach that to the embossed layer and add the black bow.  I like the black & white with pink flowers...I think it came out beautifully.  My daughter's idea was perfect.

Cupcake Pop-up Easel Card

My grandaughter has a birthday this month and I wanted to make her a card that is as cute and special as she is.
So I made her this pop-up easel card :)

That sweet image is Chibi Cupcake Peeker from
Bugaboo Stamps and I colored it with Intense watercolor pencils AND regular colored pencils.  I added some
CTMH Liquid Glass on her eyes and the cherry.
The three different papers I used are from the
Vintage Cupcake digital paper pack from AMB Illustrations .  I used a Martha Stewart lace punch set for the pink mat, and my Sizzix scallop circle die to cut out around the image.
The Happy Birthday sentiment is from my Hello Kitty Cricut cartridge.  It all came together for this perfect card.
