Happy Birthday - Hummingbird Card

I like to make birthday cards ahead of time to have them on hand.  This one was a joint effort with me and my daughter.  I had this Bugaboo stamp Blocks - Hummingbird and my daughter suggested I only color the flowers.  I liked her idea and then figured out how to bring it all together.

I embossed a white piece of cardstock with Die'sire Embossalicious "Lattice" embossing folder and used that for the background.  Before attaching it to the card I wrapped black ribbon around the middle.  I colored the flowers with Distress Markers (Spun Sugar, Milled Lavender, Mustard Seed, and Spiced Marmalade).  I added Sakura Stardust glitter gel pen around the edges of the square and on the "flutters" beneath the hummingbird.  Then I layered it on black cardstock, and layered that on pink cardstock to match the flowers.  I used dimensional foam squares to attach that to the embossed layer and add the black bow.  I like the black & white with pink flowers...I think it came out beautifully.  My daughter's idea was perfect.

Cupcake Pop-up Easel Card

My grandaughter has a birthday this month and I wanted to make her a card that is as cute and special as she is.
So I made her this pop-up easel card :)

That sweet image is Chibi Cupcake Peeker from
Bugaboo Stamps and I colored it with Intense watercolor pencils AND regular colored pencils.  I added some
CTMH Liquid Glass on her eyes and the cherry.
The three different papers I used are from the
Vintage Cupcake digital paper pack from AMB Illustrations .  I used a Martha Stewart lace punch set for the pink mat, and my Sizzix scallop circle die to cut out around the image.
The Happy Birthday sentiment is from my Hello Kitty Cricut cartridge.  It all came together for this perfect card.

Happy Birthday Fun

This was a super fun card to make and was inspired by a Bingo challenge at Scrapbook Blessings Club

I wanted to use all the squares on the BINGO board and really didn't think it was possible....but the challenge was on :)
I free hand doodled the cupcake
Colored the cupcake with watercolors
Added bling to top off the cupcake
Used buttons for balloons
I used gold cord (and with the green balloon that takes care of the green & gold)
The base of the card is covered with washi tape
The washi tape has the shamrocks on it
You can see the obvious Birthday theme
And it is all on an easel card
Whew!!!  I did it!!!
In addition to the Bingo items, I used the Celebrate stamp which is from Fiskars Make A Wish Quotes stamp set.   The cupcake was colored with Inktense pencils.  And to hold the easel open I cut out a label with my Cuttlebug Plus Fanciful Labels cut & emboss folder, and stamped with Thinking Of You On Your Birthday which is from an MFP stamp set, and attached it with foam tape.

Now I'm challenging you....

Enjoy The Bestie Moment

Sometimes we all need to just ENJOY THE MOMENT.
Here is a cute reminder.  This decorated wooden box is a perfect gift or addition to your desk.

You can pick up these cute wooden boxes or crates at your local craft store for about a dollar.
It is decorated with Sherri Baldy's My Besties Designer Papers from the "Cupcakes" digital paper pack.
The sweet image is a new Fluffy "Coffee" Bestie colored printable.  The sheet comes with 4 precolored images that I cut out with my Cricut Explore's Print & Cut feature.

I used all 4 to create this 3D effect.  You can watch my short video on the making of this box to see how I cut each layer.  Click HERE to watch the video on my YouTube channel jjgz4ever

I also decorated the inside of the box in case it is sat on a desk where it would be seen from both directions.

This is a fun and easy project that would make a great gift or home decor item.  I hope this gives you some ideas.

A Child's Prayer

This image is A Child's Prayer from A Day For Daisies
and I fell in love with it the second I saw it.

This month the SBC March Game Challenge is BINGO
For this card I used the left hand column which is
Watercolors, Bling, and Washi Tape.

I used my Cuttlebug "Swiss Dots" embossing folder to create the bachground.  I created little pink & white polka dot banner strips using cardstock and washi tape, then used foam tape to adhere them.  I colored the image with watercolor pencils, and added some Sakura Stardust Gelly Roll pen and tiny rhinestones for the bling.  The image has twinkly spots that were perfect places to put the rhinestones.  I thought the Get Well Soon sentiment was perfect.
